Australia case study

Project Location: Pilbara, Western Australia
Industry: Iron Ore Mining / Slurry Transportation

An iron ore mining company in the Pilbara region experienced severe wear and frequent leaks in its high-pressure slurry pipelines. The combination of coarse ore particles, high flow velocity, and extended transport distances caused standard rubber liners to fail within weeks, resulting in costly downtime and environmental risks.

Solution Provided:
Aino Mining supplied a custom-engineered rubber-lined pipeline solution using a high-abrasion-resistant natural rubber (NR) compound, reinforced with steel‑rubber composite layers. The liner thickness and material hardness were optimized based on the client's particle size distribution, flow rate, and operating pressure.

This customized solution extended pipeline liner life by over 150%, reduced unplanned maintenance events by 80%, and significantly improved the reliability of slurry transport operations.
