Indonesia case study

Project Location: East Kalimantan, Indonesia

Industry: Coal Mining / Slurry Handling

A coal mining company in East Kalimantan struggled with severe abrasion and short service life in its slurry transfer pipelines. High-concentration coal fines and acidic water caused frequent liner failures, leading to unplanned shutdowns and high maintenance costs.

Solution Provided:

Aino Mining supplied a custom rubber-lined pipeline solution using a wear-resistant natural rubber (NR) compound combined with an optimized thickness design. The material formulation was specifically adjusted to resist both abrasion from coal particles and mild acidity from mine water.

This customized approach extended pipeline service life by more than double, reduced maintenance stoppages by 70%, and ensured continuous slurry transportation with lower total operating costs.
